Local Companion Author

Fort Collins Reads Local Companion Author

Fort Collins Reads is proud to present Local Companion Author Teresa Funke’s author talk 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at Wolverine Farm Letterpress & Publick House.

Teresa Funke

Teresa Funke is the author of two novels for adults – Remember Wake and Dancing in Combat Boots – that were inspired by personal interviews with World War II veterans and citizens. Both books focus on women’s contributions on the home front, a thematic direction that made her the obvious Local Companion Author for Fort Collins Reads’ Manhattan Beach selection.

Inspired by students’ interest in the era, Teresa launched her Home-Front Heroes, a six-book series that focuses on different characters in WWII-era America. The series currently features four books, Doing My Part, The No-No Boys, V for Victory and Wave Me Goodbye, that were seeded by Teresa’s interviews with real people about their experiences in the war.

Teresa also serves as a speaker, both appearing for educational events for students in Northern Colorado and as a keynote speaker for events.
